Water: Conserve it, Preserve it

Friends, growing up in Jodhpur/ Nagaur have made all of us realize the importance of Water. I think we all accept that strong initiatives in Water Conservation are the only way to keep our future safe.

According to a scientific research, if certain drastic steps are not taken by the year 2040, we will be struggling for every drop of water as the water table levels would have fallen to unmanageable levels.

Today, I am sharing a few issues and suggestions on this issue. Quiet a few of these points have been shared by our friend C V Singh Ji from Sankhwas. I am grateful to him for sharing his thoughts.

  1. As there is a large population living in far off Dhanis, the govt will take a long time to reach all families.
  2. Most of the water that we get from natural resources is polluted/ impure and hence has been a major cause for diseases which effect labour productivity and business in our area.

How do we combat this? Firstly, The water tanker system needs to be regularized. Secondly, methods must be put in place to store rain water inside houses. Third and most important is to use education to create awareness.

I request all of you to make maximum efforts in this area to provide a bright and water rich future for our children.
