Friends, in India, The Cow is not just a domestic animal but has been given the place of Mother and God. Hindus consider the residence of all our 33 cr Devi – Devtas within the Cow.

This worship of the Cow is a part of our ideology, culture and religion. A cow provides milk and its products to our 450 human beings in its entire life times. Despite this, how right is it to allow Cow Slaughter to continue for the benefit of a few? Don’t you think that those who sell cows to the slaughter houses for money should be sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment?

When we pray and worship a cow in its younger years, why do a lot of us let them astray when it gets old? Would we treat other mother similarly? Lord Krishna was also a cow herder, then why can’t we too as his followers take up the protection of cows in the best possible way?

This is not just our responsibility but also our duty towards the nation to protect these mute animals. I am happy and proud that the Govt. of Rajasthan has appointed Otaram Dewasi Ji as the Cow Protection and Welfare minister. I hope other states in India replicate this practice.
